Seagram's® Gin & Juice Rolls Out New Prepared Cocktail Flavor Tropical Thunder™
PURCHASE, N.Y., Jan. 26, 2007 – In the season where days are short and temperature frigid, Seagram’s Gin & Juice is bringing the cool taste of the summer tropics to consumers with the launch of Tropical Thunder, the newest bold flavor – mango – to join the Seagram’s Gin & Juice prepared cocktail family.
Tropical Thunder’s authentic mango taste and vibrant orange color offers consumers a unique and flavorful new premixed cocktail alternative and retailers a new opportunity to increase sales in the dynamic prepared cocktail segment.

Product innovation, packaging redesign, increased advertising support and new marketing approaches have helped drive impressive growth for the full Seagram’s family of products over the past 12 months. “Given Seagram’s size and scale (the number one selling gin brand in the U.S.), this growth has spurred overall growth of the gin category,” said Hartunian. “And Tropical Thunder gives retailers yet another way to capitalize on the momentum and profitability of the Seagram’s brand and the category.”
Seagram’s Gin & Juice Tropical Thunder will launch at retail in March and will be available in 750ml, 375ml, 200ml, and 50ml sizes. The launch will be supported with bold OOH advertising, traffic-stopping POS materials and off-premise sampling (where legal).
“Our new Tropical Thunder mango flavored Gin & Juice product has strong appeal,” adds Hartunian. “Mango is one of the hottest flavors with growth of 21% over the past 12 months (source: Spectra). Recent consumer research shows that 65% of Gin & Juice consumers like the mango flavor. That’s very impressive and we are excited to add another great flavor to the family. Tropical Thunder will be parity priced ($9.99) with the other Seagram’s Gin & Juice Prepared Cocktail flavors that include: Original Citrus, Purple Rage™, Red Fury®, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Blue Beast™ and Green Dragon™.
