The Glenlivet® Introduces Superb New 25-Year-Old Single Malt Whisky

The Glenlivet XXV is Newest Addition to Acclaimed Portfolio

The Glenlivet XXVPURCHASE, NY (August 7, 2008) –The Glenlivet® is pleased to announce the U.S. introduction of The Glenlivet XXV, the oldest permanent release in the range’s portfolio.  This new offering is made from hand-selected vintage that has been finished in first-fill Sherry casks for at least two years before bottling.  The final marriage of the whiskies from the Sherry and traditional oak casks produces a unique, nutty spiciness that complements the classic mellow fruity flavors of The Glenlivet – the benchmark taste by which all other single malts are judged.

To ensure that the newest edition of the portfolio would be flawless, The Glenlivet XXV was signed off by four expert whisky-makers: Alan Winchester, who oversees the production process; Bill Lamb, who supervises the filling and warehousing of the casks; David Boyd, who regularly “noses” the whisky to inspect its progress and selects the casks for bottling; and Jim Cryle, The Glenlivet’s acclaimed Master Distiller who approves the final product and ensures its unparalleled quality.

Unlike other products in The Glenlivet’s permanent range, The Glenlivet XXV showcases a strong Sherry influence as a result of being finished in Oloroso Sherry casks, which adds a layer of nutty, spicy flavors to The Glenlivet’s famously light and fruity overtones.  The balance of the two achieves a spectacular range of flavor, as well as a balanced, smooth finish.

“The Glenlivet XXV was created to live up to exceptionally high standards,” says Jim Cryle.  “The craftsmen responsible – myself included – are immensely proud to put our signatures on the final product.”

With a suggested retail price of $350, The Glenlivet XXV will be available in the U.S. in limited quantity in the fall, 2008.  Each bottle is batch numbered, and comes packaged in an exquisite wooden box accented with limestone and brushed steel.  Further information is available at www.theglenlivet.com/XXV or call (888) 249-0437.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our loyal customers and consumers this exquisite reserve,” added Ron Zussman, Marketing Director for The Glenlivet, Pernod Ricard USA.  “The Glenlivet XXV represents the ultimate expression of the quality, heritage and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle of The Glenlivet.  We know The Glenlivet loyalists and single malt aficionados will be astounded by this amazingly smooth and intensely flavored single malt from the world’s best selling single malt whisky brand.”
