The Glenlivet® Partners With GOLF CHANNEL to Sponsor Themed Night of Programming
PURCHASE, N.Y. (September 3, 2008) – The Glenlivet®, the number-one selling malt in the United States and the number-two in the world, announced today its sponsorship of a new, themed night of instruction on GOLF CHANNEL.
Academy Monday presented by The Glenlivet will encompass 90 minutes and three programs aimed at providing golf instruction, strategy and tips to the ever-demanding U.S. golfing audience. The sponsored evening, hosted by acclaimed GOLF CHANNEL analyst Brandel Chamblee, began Aug. 25 and will feature 40 weeks of original, instructional programming.
The sponsorship will include The Glenlivet-branded program opens and closes, hosted by Chamblee from a specially designed The Glenlivet-branded set. The Glenlivet also will receive branded golf and Scotch trivia questions, quick tips and lessons interspersed throughout the 90-minute programming block, as well as a microsite at www.GolfChannel.com/TheGlenlivet that will highlight each week’s television content, and exclusive online videos and tips on Scotch and golf. Additional billboards will air on GOLF CHANNEL throughout each week to promote Academy Monday, and a targeted e-mail invitation to watch the series will be sent to 600,000 GOLF CHANNEL viewers and 100,000 The Glenlivet Society members.
Academy Monday presented by The Glenlivet will include three, 30-minue shows: The Turn, which provides instruction insight from real tournament situations; Champions Tour Learning Center, which offers tips and instruction from the legends of the game; and TransAmerica’s Playing Lessons from the Pros, which lets viewers eavesdrop on a touring pro’s practice round.
