In 1973, the first seedlings were planted at the Brancott Estate Vineyard. But after two years of mixed success, we rethought tradition to take our vines in a new direction – literally. By 1979 Marlborough’s first ever Sauvignon Blanc was born. Our winemaking philosophy is unencumbered by tradition and focused on capturing the remarkable, distinctive flavours of our home. Brancott Estate continues to lead with its innovative winemaking approach and passionate commitment to excellence under the stewardship of chief winemaker, Patrick Materman.
